A National Services Scheme Unit has been successfully installed in our Academy, under the guidance of the NSS Programme Co-ordinator, Mr. Rajendran Gopal.
Our NSS unit has actively participated in various conferences organised by Bangalore University. A one-day conference on “Human values among the youth – Gandhian ideals” was held on 26th October, 2016, where the speaker, O. Srinivasaiah, appealed the NSS programme officers to induce the student community to follow Gandhian ideals.
Life Skills Training Workshop for NSS Programme Officers was conducted by Centre of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology, NIMHANS, from 6th to 11th February, 2017. The officers were trained in facilitation skills, adult learning, self awareness, managing emotions, difference between empathy & sympathy, communication/interpersonal skills,creative thinking/stress management, critical thinking/problem solving, ten life skills and the need for sensitizing life skills in youth.
